On September 11 of 1683 the polish king Jan III Sobieski commanded his Winged Hussars in a charge against the troops of the Otoman Empire that were attacking Vienna at the time. The ferocity of the polish cavalry, added to Sobieski's military skill, granted in just a few hours the turkish defeat, the liberation of Vienna and marked a before and after in Europe's history.
God bless Poland and its Winged Hussars.
